Privacy policy

This privacy policy explains how SELECTA Events ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects the personal data you share when you visit selecta-events.com or sign up for any of our services. We process personal data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What we collect

We collect only what we need to run the site and our shows:

  • Account data. When you create an account we store your email, password (hashed), name, and the optional fields you fill in your profile (avatar, city, date of birth, favourite genres, playlist link, Instagram handle, bio).
  • RSVPs and chats. The events you RSVP to and the messages you send in event/direct chats are stored to power the community features.
  • Form submissions. DJ applications, press and contact forms, presale signups, and newsletter signups store the information you typed plus your IP address.
  • Analytics. Aggregated, cookie-less traffic counters via Plausible Analytics. No personal profiles.
  • Marketing pixels. Per-event Meta Pixel and Google Analytics 4 may load on specific event pages when enabled by the promoter. These are disclosed in the cookie policy and require your consent.

Why we use it

  • Run the account system, RSVPs, chat, friends, and tagging.
  • Send transactional email (account verification, password reset, event news).
  • Reply to DJ submissions, press enquiries, contact messages.
  • Notify you before tickets drop, when you opt in.
  • Keep the service safe (anti-spam, rate limits, reCAPTCHA).

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We use a small number of vetted processors:

  • Resend - sends our transactional emails.
  • Cloudflare R2 - stores media (photos, audio, posters).
  • Google reCAPTCHA - blocks bot submissions on public forms.
  • Plausible / Meta / Google Analytics - analytics where you have consented.
  • Montonio & Stripe - payment processing when the shop is open.

How long we keep it

  • Account data - for the life of the account, plus 30 days after deletion.
  • Chat messages - until you delete them or your account.
  • DJ / press / contact submissions - up to 24 months.
  • Newsletter signups - until you unsubscribe.
  • Server logs and IP - up to 30 days.

Your rights

You can ask us to (a) see what we hold on you, (b) correct it, (c) export it, or (d) delete it. Write to info@selecta-events.com and we will reply within 30 days. You can also lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority - in Estonia, the Andmekaitse Inspektsioon (aki.ee).

Children

SELECTA accounts and events are for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
