Vilnius drum & bass operates on a smaller footprint than Tallinn or Riga but punches above its weight in terms of international connections. The promoters here have stronger relationships with UK and German labels than their northern neighbours do.
Loftas: the home base
Menu fabrikas LOFTAS, in the old Elfa factory in Naujamiestis, is where the majority of serious DnB shows happen. Industrial layout, modern rig, the kind of venue that translates whatever sub-genre is in the booking smoothly.
The Loftas Fest moment
The annual Loftas Fest started as a multi-genre festival but the DnB stage has become one of the more reliable Baltic bookings each year. Worth travelling for if you are coming from Tallinn or Riga.
Side venues
Several smaller bars and clubs around the city programme DnB on rotating nights. The Vilnius scene moves around. Following the right Telegram groups is more important than knowing the venues.
Crowd character
Younger on average than Riga, more international than Tallinn. Vilnius gets a steady flow of Belarusian and Polish ravers crossing the border for nights. The crowd has the most languages of any Baltic DnB room.
When to visit
Loftas Fest weekend in September is the obvious answer. But the Saturday-night Loftas DnB programme runs year-round and the smaller side-room shows happen most weekends. Plan a long weekend.
