There is a short list of names that get requested constantly in SELECTA comments and DMs. We have tried to book each of them at some point. The reasons it has not happened are worth being honest about.
The agent says no
Some artists are signed to agencies whose touring policy excludes Eastern Europe entirely. The booking inquiry gets a polite refusal that never explains the underlying logic. We have stopped asking that specific agency for that specific artist.
The fee is too high
A handful of names command fees that the Estonian or Latvian capacity ceilings cannot support without raising ticket prices to a level the audience would resist. We could book them at Arena Riga in theory. The economic case has to come together first.
The schedule does not align
For some artists, every approach we have made has hit a touring conflict. They are simply too busy with European festival circuits to fit a Baltic weekend. We try again every season.
The slow yes
Several of these "impossible" bookings have happened over the last two years. The list of names we cannot get is shrinking. Patience and persistence are the actual booking strategies.
