Camo & Krooked are part of the Vienna DnB family but they took the city's precision-engineering approach in a different direction. Where Mefjus pointed it at neuro, Camo & Krooked pointed it at orchestral melodic DnB.
The Hospital years
Signed to Hospital Records in 2010. Their releases bridged the gap between the melodic mainstream and the more experimental Vision-adjacent crowd. Records like Mosaik became live-set staples for DJs across the liquid spectrum.
The Mosaik project
Mosaik was their attempt at a full conceptual album, blending DnB with orchestral arrangements, vocal performances, and tracks that played more like soundtrack pieces than club records. It worked. Few other DnB producers have attempted the same scope since.
The current run
Still touring and releasing. The recent records are more electronic and less orchestral than the Mosaik era but the melodic ambition is unchanged. A Camo & Krooked set at a SELECTA night would draw a different crowd than a neuro headliner. Both crowds happily coexist.
