When Noisia retired in 2022, the obvious question was: who picks up the technical baton? The producer community quietly agreed on one name. Buunshin.
Who Buunshin is
Lev Sokolovsky, originally from Ukraine, now based in the UK. Vision Recordings releases since 2019. The records share a sound design DNA with late-period Noisia: clean masters, weird textures, surgical bass programming, melodic ambition.
The sound design lectures
Buunshin runs publicly available sound design tutorials on YouTube. A generation of younger producers are learning bass synthesis directly from his explanations. The technical influence on the next wave is significant.
Where the career goes
Mainstream DnB festival bookings are starting to add his name to mid-card slots. The catalogue is still small enough that every new release matters. The next two years will determine whether he stays a producer-favourite or breaks into the wider audience that Noisia eventually owned.
